TCG Cheats and Glitches
Hints
Imakuni?
There is a trainer called Imakuni? who will give you four booster packs after you beat him. He is extremely easy to beat, so you can keep battling him over and over to gain heaps of cards with almost no effort. To battle him, save in any club and then reset your game (resetting the game is the only way to reset his location). When you turn it back on, walk into each club (in the room where the PC is) until you find him. You'll notice he's there right away because there is different music playing. He will give you a Trainer card called Imakuni? the third and sixth time you beat him.
Chose prize
Whilst competing in the Challenge Hall, save the game after the second last trainer. As the prizes are randomized, if you get a prize you don’t want or already have, you can reset your game and beat the last trainer again until you get the prize card you want.
Keep energies
To get the Slowpoke promo card, you must give the guy in the Fire Club all of your spare energies. You can put all but one of your energies into temporary decks, and then he will reveal the location of the card for only one energy.
Free energies
Put all your energies in temporary decks. Talk to the guy in the top-right hand corner of Dr. Mason's Lab and he'll give you 60 energies (this only works if you have no energies apart from those in your deck). You can do this trick repeatedly.
Look at deck
Use a card that lets you see your deck, then turn your GameBoy off and select "Continue Duel." You'll start from the beginning of your turn and your deck will not be shuffled.
Look at prize cards
When you knock out one of your opponent's Pokémon, choose a prize card, look at it, and then turn your GameBoy off. Select "Continue Duel," and repeat your turn, knocking out that Pokémon again. Choose a different prize card and look at it. Repeat until you have seen all your prizes, then you can chose the best one and continue the match.
Restart turn
The game saves automatically at the beginning of each of your turns. If you make a wrong move or a mistake, you can turn off the game during your opponent's turn and try again. Note that you can't use this trick to re-flip coins during your turn, as they will always land the same.
