Moving sprites
Highlight an un-evolved Pokémon in your Pokédex and press Start. You'll be able to see the moving sprite of that Pokémon.
Pokédex stats
Go to your Pokédex and press and hold Select. A counter will appear showing you how many Pokémon you've caught and how many you've seen.
